Electrical Field Service Technician - Uncrewed Surface Vessel
Responsible for electrical maintenance of all USV electronic components and equipment during operations. Provide key support for mobilising USVs including road transport and launch
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct electrical maintenance on USVs to an excellent standard onsite.
- Maintenance and fault finding of electrical and mechanical systems onsite.
- Compliance with execution and promotion of Quality, Health, Safety & Environment standards during all aspects of daily tasks.
- Participate/Lead in daily Toolbox talks.
- Installation and troubleshooting of survey sensors.
- Mobilisation of USVs for projects including road transport and launch/recovery at project locations.
- Boarding support vessels to monitor USV movements near shore and in congested harbour areas.
- Planning and mobilisation of USVs for projects including road transport and launch at project locations.
- Provide local, on the ground, assessment of conditions and circumstances to aid project decisions.
- Monitoring site tooling and consumables levels.
- Implement, maintain, manage and update all standard operating procedures and processes appropriate to the role.
- Maintaining high levels of organisation and cleanliness whilst carrying out maintenance tasks.
On occasion this role may involve:
- Conducting general mechanical maintenance of USV’s.
- Being responsible for training other team members to the required standards, including coaching and mentoring of others.
Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience
- Fully Qualified Electrician.
- Minimum 3 years’ previous experience in a similar role.
- Keen interest in marine activities.
- Experience in Industrial / maritime / Control system wiring.
- Hold full clean drivers’ licence
- Willing to travel and work on a rotational basis.
- Capable of remote / independent operations with a heightened focus on safety.
- Computer literacy.
- Organised, Enthusiastic, positive, proactive and have a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work to a very high standard.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under time pressure.
Desirable Experience
- BE licence
- Small craft marine qualifications.
- Basic Sea survival certificate/STCWs.
- Marine maintenance experience.
